Epiphany at St. Ann’s

Hello St. Ann Parish Family,

As the joyous season of Christmas continues, we are delighted to invite you to celebrate Epiphany with us, a time to honour the revelation of Christ to the world.

There are many ways to celebrate: attending Holy Mass for the Feast of Epiphany, having holy water blessed for Epiphany, blessing the family home, attending our potluck party, and more!

Read on to find out how you can celebrate the season of Epiphany at St. Ann’s.

In Christ,

The St. Ann Team

Epiphany Mass Times

Sunday, January 4 - Epiphany Mass (English) - 10:00 am

The English Epiphany Mass is transferred to the nearest Sunday, which in 2026 is January 4. Our Sunday Masses on January 4 will be held at their normal times.

Monday, January 5 - Epiphany Water Blessing & Mass (TLM) - 6:00 pm

On the day before the celebration of Epiphany, water is blessed in a special ceremony to sanctify it and make it holy. We will begin with the water blessing at 6:00 PM and the Mass will follow immediately afterwards (about 7pm start time for the Mass). You may bring your own container full of water to be blessed. We will have tables near the sanctuary for you to place your containers.

Tuesday, January 6 - Epiphany Mass (TLM) - 7:00 pm

Epiphany falls on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in the traditional liturgical calendar. On this day, we will have a TLM at 7:00 PM. Please note that the regularly-scheduled Wednesday evening TLM will be cancelled on January 7.

Epiphany Home Blessing

Each year during Epiphany, some Catholic families bless their homes with chalk, in a ritual that (this year) involves inscribing "20 + C + M + B + 26" on the threshold. This signifies the current date and the initials of the Magi—Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar—who visited Christ. The letters also represent "Christus Mansionem Benedicat," meaning "May Christ bless this house." This blessing serves as a prayer for protection, inviting Christ's presence into homes and reaffirming faith in His teachings.

Blessed Chalk & Prayer Sheets Available

If you'd like to bless your home to mark the Feast of Epiphany, we will have blessed chalk and blessing printouts available in the narthex beginning on Sunday, January 4.

The home blessing prayers are also available on the PDF attached below.

  • When: on January 11 at 1:30 pm

Parish Potluck: Bring Something!

We'll need your help to make our potluck a success. There's a whole list of things you can bring: salads, meats, pastries, desserts, drink cans, water bottles, buns, etc. You're encouraged to get creative! Helpful Tip: label serving dishes and utensils with tape/marker so we can return them to the correct owner!

Free Bingo Game

Did you know that St. Ann's once had a bingo club? While the club has been defunct for many years, we still have the old bingo machine in storage, balls and all! We're excited to dust off the bingo cards and giveaway some fun prizes for all ages. This will be a free game, open to all. If you have any small gifts you would like to give away, consider donating them as prizes!

Want to get involved? Volunteer!

We need your help to make the Epiphany party a success. There are a number of volunteer roles that we need filled! Consider signing up for any of them in the narthex or online on flocknote.
