Baptism is the first of the seven sacraments and the doorway to the Christian life. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God.

How to arrange a Baptism

Getting started

Normally, Baptism of infants takes place in your own parish or the church whose boundaries you live within. If neither of these is St. Ann’s, a letter of permission from your pastor is required for St. Ann’s to consider your request.

Infants & children

Baptizing your child

The Church asks parents to have their children baptized in the first weeks after birth, so please contact us early, even before the baby is born. The normal process of preparation for Baptism is as follows:

  1. 1Come to Mass and introduce yourselves to the pastor afterward.
  2. 2Send an email to the parish office to go over final details. You may be asked to meet with the pastor to do this in person.
  3. 3Complete the Baptism Information Form.

Teens & adults

Baptism for yourself

If you’ve never been baptized and feel drawn to the Catholic faith, you’re very welcome. Adults are prepared for Baptism through RCIA, where you’ll learn the faith and receive Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion together.

Can I come to St. Ann’s for the Traditional Latin Mass and other sacraments if I don’t live close to the parish?

Yes, St. Ann’s is the only parish in the greater Hamilton area that offers the Traditional Latin Mass.
