🌿 Holy Week & Easter at St. Ann Hamilton

The holiest week of the year is almost here. These are the days the entire liturgical year has been building toward — the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We invite you to enter these sacred days fully, walking with the Church through every moment from the triumph of Palm Sunday to the joy of Easter morning.

Below you'll find everything happening at St. Ann's this Holy Week. Make it a week unlike any other.

🌿 Palm Sunday - March 29

Holy Week begins with the solemn commemoration of Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Join us as we receive our blessed palms and hear the Passion proclaimed.

Masses: 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM

Monday of Holy Week - March 30

🎬 The Passion of the Christ — Special Screening

6:45 PM at Playhouse Cinema

Join your parish family for a special community screening of Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ — one of the most powerful cinematic portrayals of Our Lord's suffering and love ever made. Whether it is your first time or your tenth, this film has a way of breaking open the heart in preparation for the Sacred Triduum.

The screening is FREE to attend, but we will be accepting optional donations at the door. Please, come and bring your friends and family!

Wednesday of Holy Week - April 1

🕊️ Special Lenten Confessions

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Don't enter the Sacred Triduum carrying the weight of unconfessed sin. On the Wednesday in Holy Week, three priests will be available for Confession so that you can approach the Sacred Triduum with a clean heart and the grace of God's mercy.

Hearing Confessions:

  • Fr. Jeffery Oehring

  • Fr. Bulbrook

  • Fr. Merkley

No appointment needed. Come any time between 6:00 and 9:00 PM.

Note that the evening Mass at 7 PM will take place as usual.

Holy Thursday - April 2

Mass of the Last Supper — 7 PM

"Do you know what I have done to you?" — John 13:12

On the night He was betrayed, Our Lord gave us everything: the Eucharist, the priesthood, and the commandment to love as He loves. Holy Thursday draws us into the Upper Room.

Jesus in the Garden — Three Hours of Meditation, 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Following Mass, we invite you to spend part of the night in prayer and meditation, accompanying Our Lord through His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. As He asked His disciples — "Could you not watch one hour with me?" — we answer yes.

This is a rare and graced opportunity for deep, quiet prayer as we enter the Paschal Triduum.

Come for an hour or stay the whole time. All are welcome.

Good Friday — The Lord's Passion - April 3

The Church's most solemn day. We do not celebrate Mass on Good Friday — instead, the ancient liturgy carries us to Calvary.

Stations of the Cross: 11:00 AM

Solemn Liturgy of the Lord's Passion: 3:00 PM

The traditional hour of Our Lord's death. Includes the Veneration of the Cross.

Tenebrae: 7:00 PM

The ancient Office of Shadows — a hauntingly beautiful service of gradually extinguished candles, commemorating the darkness that fell over the earth.

"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." — Luke 23:46

🕯️ Holy Saturday — April 4

Blessing of Easter Food: 10:00 AM

Bring your Easter baskets to be blessed in the ancient tradition.

Easter Vigil Mass: 8:00 PM

The greatest night of the year. We begin in darkness and end in the light of the Risen Christ. The Easter Vigil is the culmination of Holy Week — if you can attend only one evening, make it this one.

New Catholics will be received into the Church at the Vigil through Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion. Please keep them in your prayers.

Easter Sunday — April 5

✨ He Is Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Come celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Easter Sunday Masses follow the regular schedule:

  • 8:00 AM

  • 10:00 AM

  • 12:00 PM

Invite someone you love. There is no better morning.

Low Sunday / Divine Mercy - April 12

🎉 Parish Easter Potluck Party

The celebration continues! Join your parish family for our annual Easter Potluck — a joyful gathering to celebrate the Risen Lord together.
